Student Exchange Programme

Introduction
This is part of the government’s national integration programme which was established in 1972. Form 1 students from Sarawak are sent to boarding schools in West Malaysia and vice versa. In 1974, this programme was extended to include Sabah students, with the Sabah Foundation taking on students from Sarawak.
Objectives

To develop the spirit of national integration between the students of Sarawak,
West Malaysia and Sabah.

To expose Sarawak students to education at boarding schools in West Malaysia
Applications
-
Applications are open to all students who achieve an ‘A’ for all subjects
in the UPSR or PMR
-
Applications should be submitted within two weeks of UPSR and PMR results
being released.

Form YS12 (Amended 1/98) should be used.
Student Group Programme
This is carried out during the school holidays. Students are grouped together for both academic and non-academic activities. It aims to not only bring the students closer together, but also to expose them to other cultures.
