Towards implementing its Educational Development planning,
The Sarawak Foundation provides assistance schemes in the form of loans, scholarships
and education facilities besides various other education related projects
thus acting as a catalyst to the development of education in the state
of Sarawak.
The efforts above aims to enhance the quality of education and fulfilling
the demands of a knowledge based community while working together with
other authorities such as from the schools, institutions of higher learning,
The Sarawak State Education Department, skills and technical training centers
and the communities as a whole.
1. Higher Education Section
This section facilitates the various programs and schemes created to
assist students from Sarawak especially those who are pursuing further
studies and post studies. At the higher education and skills and technical
training level, The Sarawak Foundation has identify three main task;

2. Lower Education Section
This section facilitates the various programs initiated to help needy
students under going their education at the primary and secondary school
levels in Sarawak.
3. Community Education Section
The Sarawak Foundation's Community Education Program caters for continuos
training and counseling in enhancing the knowledge and skills as well as
positive attitudes amongst the communities of all levels starting from
students, parents, peers, community leaders and the general public. This
program aims to help them to realize their dreams and their potential so
as to achieve a quality livelihood besides becoming a knowledgeable community
and have visions to succeed in life.
4. Education Resource Center (ERC)
The Center was established on the 21st May 1996. Its' objectives
is to provide the current and latest information on educational opportunities
to the public especially students. Those who are going for further studies
can come to the center and get the necessary details whether on the local
or overseas institutions to help them in their choices.
5. Secretariat for Accreditation of Prior Achievements (APA)
Established on 26th July 1998, this program seeks to encourage skilled
& semi-skilled workers as well as trainees of technical institutions
in Sarawak to obtain certification on their achievements and working experience
and also to enhance their qualification to a higher level.
6. Secretariat for Tunku Abdul Rahman Foundation Sarawak Scholarship
In 1994, The Sarawak was entrusted to facilitate the implementation
of the scheme in Sarawak. Formerly, it was done via The State Training
Center. The Foundation is responsible towards the management of its financial
activities, scholarship applications and selection of qualified recipients.
7. Secretariat for Bakun Trust Fund
In 1998, this secretariat was created to facilitate its management,
scholarship applications and selection of qualified recipients.
8. Education Joint ventures/ Partnership
In line with The Sarawak Foundation's vision and mission, two institutions
providing technically oriented programs has been established in Sarawak.
These will provide students who does not meet the entry qualification of
the institutions of higher learning but are interested in technical programs
the chance to further themselves in their respective fields of studies.
a) Curtin
University of Technology Sarawak

The Sarawak Campus

The campus offers a selection of high demand programs ranging from pre
university and degree programs, to higher degrees by research. It also
provides the latest information technologies with its networked computer
laboratories equipped with new high performance hardware accessing electronic
libraries, the Internet and email facilities. The students can access to
course materials and academic resources from Curtin University of Technology,
Bentley campus in Western Australia.
b) Swinburne

Swinburne Sarawak operates in partnership with The Sarawak Foundation.
The establishment of Swinburne Sarawak is to provide all Swinburne students
with international living, working and learning opportunities. In August
2000, Swinburne took its first intake for degree programs and skills enhancement
programs with a total student population of 130.
